Ansonsten würde ich diese superbe Band in einem Atemzug zu der Gruppe der ungekrönten Könige des Hardrocks mit Bands, wie BADLANDS und BLUE MURDER zählen. Also Whitesnake Fans dürften einen Gefallen daran finden. verpflichtet wurde! Die Songs, wie gesagt erstklassik, wie aus den 80ern, haben aber auch manchmal einen 70er Touch und gelegentliche Led Zep Einflüsse hört man auch raus.Ebenfalls abwechslungsreich sind die Tempi, Ballade, Midtempo und Uptempo. Und bei einigen Songs könnte man sich auch einen David Coverdale vorstellen und ruckzuck hätte man einen WS Song. John gehört zur Champions Leage der Rockshouter (ein wenig wie Ray Gillen). Dabei ist natürlch die Gitarrenarbeit von Aldrich besonders hervorzuheben, doch auch der Gesang von Keith St. Bleiben wir aber bei Burning Rain, das Debut Album besticht durch erstklassike Kompositionen, eine sehr gute Produktion (Doug Aldrich selbst) und tolle Musiker. Bad Moon Rising,Lion,Hurricane,Dio und House Of Lords) durchforsten. Vielleicht erfahren diese Meisterwerke jetzt langsam ihre Würdigung, denn seit Gitarrist Doug Aldrich bei Whitesnake anheuerte, könnte man auch ruhig mal seine musikalische Vergangenheit (u.a. Tja, Burning Rain sind eine erstklassige Hardrockkapelle, die zwei geile Alben Ende `99 und Anfang 2000 veröffentlichten, welche aber völlig untergangen sind. If you remotely like the music of Foreigner etc, then this band will certainly cut it for you too! Now whether it's the intensity of the riffing and soloing of Doug Aldrich or the vocalisation of Keith St John that just pushes the music a little more forward than straight rip-off, I am not quite sure, but this is one mutha of an album that screams ROCK N ROLL from the opening lines of "Smooth Locomotion" through "Superstar Train" to my personal favourite, "Jungle Queen" all in very quick succession and all displaying tones and riffs reminiscent of the 4 iconic bands that I mentioned in the mix.Ĭertainly, apart from a couple of ballads that Mr Coverdale would not be embarrassed to sing, this album simply takes no prisoners so that by the end of the playing time, you will be left with one very big and silly grin all over your face! Now normally, this kind of mixture would have me screaming for the hills, but somehow, this band just (and I mean JUST!) manage to pull it off.
Take one part FOREIGNER, two parts WHITESNAKE, half a cup of DEEP PURPLE and just to spice things up, liberally coat with LED ZEPPELIN - et voila! BURNING RAIN, my friends.!
